You’ve had your trial by literal fire into the DynaVerse. Now, it is time for you to learn how to better customize your experience, simply by changing how you heat up your VapCap. If you have not yet been properly initiated, please refer to our triple torch video. Please do so to avoid the risk of combustion.
Now that you have properly learned some basic techniques, let me show you how to best utilize a single torch for complete precision heating. Please check out our advanced heating tips video for a more visual explanation, but I will expand upon the details in that video here.
To truly get the best experience out of your VapCap, we recommend our customers eventually upgrade to a single jet pocket torch, as it will enable the user to pinpoint the flame in relation to The Cap. This will allow you to dial in the experience to your liking, whether you are flavor-chasing those tasty terps, or if you want to float on the clouds you will soon be exhaling.
But why would a single torch give me more control? The answer is simple: when you ignite your torch, take a look at the jets. The more jets you have, the more evenly spread out the heat is. This results in quick, even heating, but it will be heating the whole cap all at once, as opposed to just a specific area and letting the heat rise throughout the chamber. Your device will still heat evenly (with good rotation techniques, just slower).
This allows the internal temperature in your extraction chamber (your Tip) to warm up. This is why the first draw, particularly with a Triple Torch, is less dense. The Cap itself may have come up to temperature, but the internal temperature was only just hot enough to extract the compounds that boil off at lower temperatures.
Using this knowledge, we can now better customize the experience to our liking. If I want to have a more relaxing session, drawn-out over as many heating cycles as possible, I can really use this information to my advantage. I will first start by rotating my device and then introduce heat towards the crimp on my cap.
This will cause the “Click” to occur at a lower temperature range, (around 300-340 degrees Fahrenheit) so that you can really taste all the terpenes in your material. With subsequent heating cycles, the internal temperature will slowly climb higher and higher and, at the same time, I will work my way down by heating a little bit lower on The Cap each time. This allows me to get considerably more heat cycles out of my material without needing to reload.
You can also better customize the effect too, as the more sedating compounds boil off at higher temperatures. By the time you reach the base of your Cap, you will be reaching temperatures of around 400-450 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine this with the Low Temp Cap, and it would not surprise me if you were able to get 8+ heating cycles out of your material.
“I don’t want to extend my session, I want to be able to extract everything fast,” is the other side of the coin. If you wish to fully extract your material quickly, you can start low on The Cap and stay there with each cycle. However, if you wish to go through it in only 1-2, this tip is for you! I only recommend you try this if you are very familiar with your Cap’s timing so as to avoid any risk of combusting your material. Heat the base of The Cap and, right before you would normally hear the click, you should pull away.
At this point, give your cap a few seconds break from the heat, then reintroduce heat. From here, you can heat all the way to the click, or you can repeat the steps of pulling away right before the click a few times. I recommend you experiment with it and find what works best for you.
What this is doing is giving your material ample time to prime, and as soon as you draw the temperature inside will already be near max temperature, so you will get a blast of conduction and convection heating, which will fully extract your material with as few cycles as possible. This technique is awesome for when you only have a few minutes to achieve lift-off.
You should now be able to better understand the analog nature of the VapCap and how to take advantage of this to great effect. What are some of your favorite heating tips or techniques? Let us know in the comments.
